Resize pics in XP with the 'Image Resizer' power toy Download.
The power toy amounts to registry entries which access the built in engine that handles "send to> mail recipient", redirecting the copy path to that of the original image with some size options. Makes the on-board engine useful.
Install and restart, nothing has changed. Right click on a pic (or select a group and right click), see "resize pictures" on the right click menu. Smaller copies land in the same folder - no fear of overwriting the originals. Careful of pics which are smaller than the resize, then it gets ugly.
For Vista, Win 7 and XP - 32 or 64 bit
Here's a great freebee Light Image Resizer formerly VSO - and here is the How To Forum.
Down-size many pics at once, on any win system - installing nothing!
Select a pic (or group of pics) right click and go "send to> mail recipient". An option pops up "make all my pictures smaller" - OK that.
Default email program opens a new blank email with smaller pictures attached.
Go to the forum posting box and click "Upload Attachment" found under the post box. New window presents four empty boxes. Copy and paste each image path from the email to the upload boxes (one at a time). Upload and confirm then cancel the email.
