So old... and looks like a pancake on wheels (the ZX I'm referring to).

Good to see another local on here tho. I'm from the Gong.

I was planning on getting a 300zx before i even knew Soarers existed. I am a fan of the angled and flat front look, like a wedge.

*shrug*

I owned a 300zx from 2000 - 2005. I thought it was the best Zed car Nissan ever built (I've owned all except the 350z - which I hate, even if I could afford one!) , but the specs of the Aus model (which mine was) were quite basic compared to almost any other GT.
They go well, except they are a bit light in the rear and aren't particularly roomy or economical. They are starting to show their age in some ways, notably the plastic electrical connectors, which are getting brittle and unreliable in most of them. High underbonnet temperatures don't help, either. Working on a 300zx is frustrating - no space to do anything, and some hoses inaccessible without removing the gearbox. I had nothing go wrong with mine, but I lived in fear of a hose blowing, the heater core failing (VERY common) or the cam belt breaking (the VG30DE is an interference engine.) General service access is good - very intelligent placement of filters and drain plugs, for example.
I reckon they are still quite a dramatic looking car, being so low and with the headlight treatment not unlike the Ford GT40, but most people are over them now as you see them so often.
Unfortunately they have become so cheap they tend to get into the hands of people who rice them up with all sorts of twisted plastic bolt on rubbish, winding up looking worse than a Hyundai FX coupe!
I sold mine just after buying my UZZ31 - this better suited my purposes. I'm not going to say outright that the UZZ31 is the better car - they really aren't the same sort of product as the 300zx is a GT car which pretends to be a sports car and winds up compromised in both roles. The UZZ31 is a no-compromise GT car with little sporting pretention, but which can get you from A to B in great style, efficiency and comfort at any chosen speed.
