I have registered Peter.

We have the same problem in NZ, so I'm sure I'll learn a LOT from the site.

Speed cameras are one thing... An unoriginal V rip off with pretty radical social views rather typical of a juvenile bucking any authority is another.

I quote and comment:

IF YOU BELIEVE

That safety (sic) cameras are a blight on society
That safety (sic) cameras are just another dishonest tax inflicted on those who can least afford it.
That safety (sic) cameras do not save lives
That safety (sic) cameras and the current obsession with speed and revenue raising in fact kill people. - How so?
That our young drivers need training and help not fines and license loss for trivial offences
That there is a better way - So where are better suggestions from this genius?
That the government is lying to us and using misinformation to control us - Control is a strong word, he left out brainwashing for maximum dramatic effect...
That there is a deliberate campaign using the road toll as a scapegoat, using an emotive issue people will find difficulty arguing with as the reason for their actions - Hah? Me thinks he lost the plot here.
That control of the population is carried out using fear as a tool. Fear of the road toll, fear of recession.. use something real to mask their real intentions.. real sick bastards we are dealing with. - Goes way deeper than road rules folks!
That taking your licence away for exceeding the speed limit by 4km per hours is wrong - Here I was thinking you had to have lost all your points first or be excessively over the limit.
That the medieval justice that takes someones licence away and their ability to support their family, that takes the food from our childrens table, that breaks relationships and puts people in jail is wrong and needs to be destroyed. - 10 out of 10 for drama. This never has anything to do irresponsible idiocy by any driver in the first place, of course.
That the location of speed cameras is designed to maximise income not lower the road toll. - At last I can partially agree.
That the lower road toll is not the outcome of government safety policy but a constant improvement in the quality of the cars we drive and roads we drive on.
That the speed limits on our interstate highways are so low they are dangerous

This person has spent no more time working out how their going to make a difference than learning about possessive nouns. Pardon me for not believing.

PS Watch out for those court costs if you loose Richard... fear tactics of an oppressive government lying to control us and stop us from supporting our families for going 4k over the limit see ;-)

Agreed,
I beleive the Red Light Camera that has a speed camera with it should be banned.

Say you are doing 58 in a 60 zone, light changes soon as you are on it. Fact. You WILL put your foot down, then in the blink of an eye, you are done for speeding, as the response of the current engines will gain momentum quickly.

The other is going UP hill or DOWN hill.

Down hill forces one to go against what a driving school teaches them. Riding the BRAKE and overheating them.

Guys, the current road rules are a complete crock.

I will now demonstrate how so in one simple, easy to digest sentence....

"EVERY person who drives slowly WILL die."

See, there is no use denying it.

This is the simple, undeniable truth that the road safety freaks don't want you to know.

Bloody genius that Jeff.
I posted my idea on that site, no speed limits at all, compulsory comprehensive insurance to be on the road, get caught at an accident DUI...no insurance. Skill based assessment to get your license.
1. Every driver alert and competent.
2. No government expense on traffic cops, cars, cams (er.. a shitload of expense saved).
3. Every accident covered.
4. Cops catch robbers like their friggin supposed to (they seem to think that's too hard these days, so their focussed on basically innocent souls..sitting ducks, and they can do it sitting on their arse with a pov camera, and call that LAW ENFORCEMENT (excuse me while i go chuck)).
5. The only people who end up hating cops are the robbers, instead of bloody all of us.(a happier environment to be in I think).

There are only two ways to treat people, theory X and theory Y. Theory x is: you are an adult you are a member of society and we know your judgements sound so use it. Expressed by 'few rules'. Theory Y: is you are child and as such you really don't know what you are doing so you need to be told where all the boundaries are, expressed by lots of rules. So tell me what does our government think of it's constituency?

SPEED DOES NOT KILL, and i am going to say it till i'm blue in the face, as an ex racer, I ask how many people have died in racing accidents over all racing events (an extreme example, but relative, clearly demonstrates speed in the hands of competent drivers, in adequate vehicles is safe).
BAD DRIVERS DO KILL, and if i wasn't such a good driver, they would have already got me, damn well knows they've tried!!!
ACCIDENTS DO happen as the meaning of the word suggests, its a fact of life. When cops quote a road toll.. (it might be getting better because they have forcefully removed 100,000 or so drivers and cars from the road). If reducing speed was the simple solution.. therefore there should be no accidents; is this the case?
By the way in Germany...no speed limits...lowest accident rate..go figure.

Ok jumping off my soap box, (before I get pushed). DON'T ACCEPT GOVERNMENT PROPOGANDA (their bloody good at it). V is right in essence, united we stand, divided (by apathy is enough) we fall, as we are right now, one little bit at a time.
ps. Please send all complaints to our new puppet, she will duly get in touch with Rio Tinto and see what she needs to do about them.
The day Australia became very UN-Australian.

Can't wait for the fall of consumerism, (which will more than likely be December 21 2012).

Ok covered it all speed, politics, and the end of the world as we know it in just one post!!!
